TKKTR Database 

 

 

 

Problem: The TKKTR trust staff were using books to note down the daily activities of the Tangata Whaioras - TWs (house residents), they also used other registers like incident notes, case notes, clinical visits etc., 

 

Solution: A database was designed in MS Access as front end and SQL Server as backend, where all activities were stored in the database. Around 15 staff can use the database simultaneously from various locations. Staff can filter out TWs based on their house location, record entry and exit dates, record habits, health risks, daily activities, clinical visits, incident reports, case notes, movement between houses etc.,   

 

Benefits: A reporting dashboard was created to show the performance of staff and TWs with many features, instead of going through the papers, they can view all the information with a click of a button. Also, by law the Trust need to upload the activities into a Ministry of Health register, previously it was done manually, now they can upload the data straight from the database.  A considerable amount of time and money was saved due to the database, and manual errors were controlled due to digitisation.
